Angie Layne | Owner, Acro Gymnastics Coach, Cheerleading Coach & Instructor since 2004

Angie has been involved with gymnastics & cheerleading for over 30 years. She has a Masters Degree in Sports Management and a Bachelors Degree in Education, both from Morehead State University. She cheered for six years at Fairfield Local Schools and two years at Morehead State - the most decorated collegiate cheer program in the US. While in graduate school, she coached the MSU All Girl Cheerleading Team. She also worked one year for UCA (Universal Cheerleaders Association), taught gymnastics classes at Cincinnati Gymnastics Academy and T-N-T (Morehead, KY). She competed 10 years in acro gymnastics, one year as a Jr-Elite Acrobat, and was also a National Champion in 1987 & 1988. She is a USAG National ranked judge, serves as the Region 5 Judging Coordinator and Acro Program Development Task Force Rep. Angie was the 2007 Region 5 Coach of the year and is USAG safety certified. Angie coached the 2008 National Championship Cheer Team. Also, in 2008 she coached 3 Junior Olympic National Champions and in 2011 4 JO National Champions! Prior to owning Aerial's, Angie served as the Director of the Eastgate Campus of Wilmington College where she also taught as an adjunct professor. Angie is married to J.D. Layne, has four children (Payton, Jillian, Cali, and Cason) and lives near Waynesville.

Candace Frump | Cheerleading Coach & Instructor since 2004

Candace has over 10 years of experience in cheerleading and tumbling. She was a member of the 2004-2005 Aerial's All Star Cheerleading Team and cheered for Clinton-Massie HS for 3 years. She was the assistant coach for the 2008 National Championship Cheer Team. She is currently employed full time at National Bank & Trust in Wilmington. Candace is a graduate of Southern State Community College. She is USAG safety certified & CPR certified. Candace is married to Michael Frump and lives near Clarksville.

Sandy Lovelace | Gymnastics Coach & Instructor since 2007

Sandy was previously the Assistant Gymnastics Coach at the Clinton County YMCA. Sandy is a former competitive acro gymnast and national champion in Acro and Tumbling. She cheered 4 years at Wilmington HS. Sandy has worked as an accountant for 7 years at Main Medical, Inc. She is USAG safety certified. She has four children (William - Wilmington HS Football & Basketball player; and three grown children Mercedes, Alyssa & Addam) and lives in Wilmington.

Ashli Maynard | Instructor

Ashli has been in Aerial's her entire life since her mother (Tina) founded Aerial's in 1994. She has been a member of the Aerial's Acro Team since she was 4 and also competed two seasons on the Aerial's EXTREME Cheerleading Team. She is currently a Level 9 gymnast/acrobat. Ashli is also a cheerleader at Hillsboro High School. She's the daughter of Klay & Tina Maynard and lives in Hillsboro.

Tina Maynard | Previous Owner, Acro Gymnastics Coach, & Instructor since 1994

Tina opened Aerial’s Gymnastics 17 years ago in Leesburg and has been involved with gymnastics for over 30 years. She cheered four years at Wilmington HS. She also competed in acro gymnastics for 8 years, one year as an Elite Acrobat, and was a National Champion 8 times. Tina is the 2011 Region 5 Coach of the Year. She is USAG safety certified. Tina is married to Klay Maynard, has four children (Tyler, Ashli, Jayme, and Kole), and lives in Hillsboro.

Melissa Shepherd | Acro Gymnastics Coach & Customer Service Representative since 2007

Melissa has worked for Aerial's since 2004 when her two daughters began taking gymnastics. She has served as a parent volunteer, customer service representative and assistant acro coach. In 2009, she became an USAG Acrobatic Gymnastics Judge. She also has an Associate's Degree from Southern State Community College and works full time for Bagshaw Enterprises. Her daughter Sammi is on the Acro Gymnastics Team and daughter Morgan is a former member of the Gymnastics Team. She is married to Chris Shepherd and lives near Leesburg.

Joni Streber | Instructor

Joni is an award-winning Gymnastics, Sports Acrobatics, Tumbling, Cheerleading, and Dance Team Coach, with more than 30 years experience. She is the former owner of Wilmington Gymnastics and Acro Express. She has coached 15 World Champions, over 50 National Champions and countless regional and state champions. She implemented a Sports Acrobatics & power tumbling program at an Olympic Training Facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. She has served on several technical committees at a national and international level; judged all disciplines of gymnastics, trampoline and diving at a national and international level. Other accomplishments include: USA National Team Coach, winner of the National Team Award, winner of national coaching awards in both tumbling and sports acrobatics. Joni works full time for Wilmington College where she is credited for building the Wilmington College Cheer program to a competitive level, implementing cheer stunting & tumbling. She also teaches as an adjunct instructor for Teaching Educational Gymnastics and Teaching Dance, Rhythm and Movement. Her education includes a BS in Organizational Management from Wilberforce University; Maynard Research Center - graduate in Industrial Engineering; AA in Education from Southern State Community College; Georgia Institute of Technology - Certificate Distribution and Warehousing; and European Cultural Exchange, graduate. Joni is married to Steve Streber, has a daughter named Jodi, two sons (Schuyler and Sage) and lives in Wilmington.

Julia Strider| Instructor

Julia has been involved with gymnastics for over 6 years. She has earned a Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Antioch University in Yellow Springs Ohio and a Bachelor’s in Communications from Wilmington College in Wilmington Ohio. Julia has taught Preschool through third grade and has been a gymnastics instructor/ coach to athletes that range from 18 mos. – 18 years of age. She coached for 2 years at the Clinton County YMCA levels 3 – 9 competitive gymnastics team. She is currently a part-time substitute teacher in several local public schools. She is USAG certified & CPR certified. Julia is married to Chris Strider and has a stepdaughter and two other children, (Cheyenne, Haylie, and Brandon) and currently lives in Wilmington Ohio.

Taylor Wilkin | Instructor since 2007

Taylor has 10 years experience in gymnastics and cheerleading. She is a student at Morehead State University. She was a member of the Aerial's Acro Gymnastics Team from 2004-2009 and a member of 2007-2008 Aerial’s EXTREME National Champion Cheerleading Team. She is USAG safety certified. She is the daughter of Rita Storts and Sam Wilkin.
